Jul. 07, 1986 - The Queen commonwealth games message leaves: At a ceremony in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace, London, this morning, H.M. The Queen handed her special message, contained in a baton, to three athletes who were carrying it on the first stage of a relay that will culminate in Jamaica, where the 8th British Empire and Commonwealth Games are being held. The relay will carry the message to London Airport from where it will be flown by BOAC aircraft to the West Indies. Photo shows H.M.
