Queen Elizabeth II Coronation choir in St Paul's Cathedral

Jun. 06, 1953 - Coronation Choir to Sing in the USA. Those unable to attend the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II will have an opportunity to see a small part of it when the choir who sang throughout the service in Westminster Abbey goes to the USA this autumn on an eight weeks tour of the USA and Canada. The choir, known as the St Paul's Cathedral Choir, which is made up of 30 boys and 18 men, will sing in cathedrals and concert halls in 40 of the larger cities, including Carnegie Hall, New York. The tour will coincide with the building of the American Memorial Chapel in St Paul's Cathedral to honour the 28, 000 members of the US armed forces who lost their lives while based in Britain during World War II.
