Jun. 06, 1957 - Queen has first flight in Comet to visit RAF station: Queen Elizabeth II, followed by the Duke of Edinburgh, walks from the RAF Comet on arrival at Leuchars RAF Station, Fife, Scotland, yesterday (Tuesday). This was her Majesty's first flight in a Comet. The plane made the flight from Marham, near Sandringham, in fifty minutes at a speed of 360 miles an hour. During her visit, the Queen saw some of Britain's secret weapons, was given demonstrations of the work of the RAF and presented a Standard to No. 43. Fighter Squadron
