May 05, 1959 - Veronica Gets Her Wish And Sees The Queen As She Leaves Buckingham Palace Today: Eleven-year-old Veronica Martineau, the little American girl who wrote to the Queen, saying she would like to see her while in London, and received a reply from a lady-in-waiting, had her wish granted today. She was told in the letter to be outside Buckingham Palace today where she would be able to see Her Majesty as she left for a visit to Wellington College.
