Feb. 02, 1980 - The Queen Opens The Elmsleigh Centre, Staines: This afternoon The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh opened the new Elmsleigh Shopping center in Staines. This is the first covered shopping center in Surrey. It has some 50 shops and its central square provides facilities for exhibitions and other activities of local interest.
