1969 - President Saragat Gives Banquet For Queen. President Giuseppe Saragat of Italy, acts as host to Queen Elizabeth II, at a banquet that he, and his daughter, Signora Santacatterina, gave for the Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, at the Italian Embassy in Grosvenor Square. The Banquet was on the eve of the Italian President's departure from Britain after his State visit, as guest of the Queen. The company of 40 dined by candlelight, and the porcelain service more than 200 years old, the gold candelabra crystal glasses were brought specially from the Quirinale Palace in Rome
