Dec. 29, 1971 - The Queen's Christmas Broadcast - Millions of People Could not Enjoy Christmas with their families, the Queen said in her Christmas Day Broadcast to the Commonwealth on Christmas Day. In the Message, recorded in Buckingham Palace, the Queen Called for thoughts and prayers for those for whom CHristmas, tragically, could not be joyful. The television programme began with the Queen sitting by herself and speaking of Christmas as a time for Prince Andrew with her. Together they turned the pages of a photograph album.
