Jun. 07, 1977 - Bonfires Herald the Jubilee as the Queen lights the first at Windsor: A flaming network of 102 beacons across the country from Jersey to Shetland burst into life last night as the first bonfire was lit by the Queen on snow Hill, Windsor Great Park, for the start of the Queen's Silver Jubilee Celebrations.
