Jul. 07, 1958 - The Queen Goes Down A Mine - Wearing White Boiler Suit: Queen Elizabeth II yesterday went down the Rothes pit, near Kirkcaldy, Fifeshire - as part of her tour of Scotland. It was her first descent of coal mine, and she wore a smart white boiler suit, white headscarf and helmet - and carried a Miner's lamp.
