Jul. 07, 1958 - Queen goes down a mine wearing white boiler suit. Queen Elizabeth II yesterday went down the Rothes pit, near Kirkcaldy, Fifeshire as part of her tour of Scotland. It was her first descent of a coal mine and she wore a smart white boiler suit, white headscarf and helmet and carried a miner's lamp.
