Queen Farah of Persia after Coronation ceremony
Oct. 27, 1967 - The Shah of Iran crowned in bejewelled splendour at his coronation ceremony in Teheran. Yesterday Iran had a dignified, rich and popular coronation, with the Shah placing the crown on his own head at the ceremony at Golestan Palace in Teheran. He also crowned Queen Farah making her the first woman to wear a crown in the country's 2, 500-year history. The ceremony was watched by the young Crown Prince Reza, who sat at his father's side.
