Dec. 17, 1954 - Queen Juliana Attends Signing Of New Netherlands Statute At The Hague: Queen Juliana attended the ceremony at the Hague recently - at thew signing of the new Surinam Statute. Under this statue Surinam, the Netherlands Antilles and the Netherlands will cooperate on a footing of equality in a single realm under the House of Orange. Each of the three parts of the new kingdom will be free and autonomous in domestic matters but will subscribe to a joint policy for foreign affairs, defence, culture, social affairs and economic matters.
