Queen Mother at opening of new Vanbrugh Theatre, RADA

Dec. 12, 1954 - Queen Mother attends new theatre at RADA; Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother opened the new Vanbrugh Theatre, at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London, last evening after which she attended a special performance by the students of the Academy. The Queen Mother laid the foundation stone of the new theatre, which is named after Irene and Violet N Vanbrugh in November 1952. The old theater was destroyed by a landmine in 1941. Photo Shows Francesca Wynne Roberts the 4 year old daughter of Joyce Redman makes the Queen Mother smile with her over eager curtsey.
