Queen Mother at opening of new Vanbrugh Theatre, RADA
Dec. 12, 1954 - Queen Mother Attends New Theatre At RADA; Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother opened the new Vanbrugh Theatre, at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London, last evening after which she attended a special performance by the students of the Academy. The Queen Mother laid the foundation stone of the new theatre, which is named after Irene and Violet Vanbrugh in November 1952. The old Theatre was destroyed by a land mine in 1941.
