Queen Sirikit of Thailand opens temple in Surrey
Aug. 08, 1966 - King of Thailand formally opens the Buddhapadipa Temple in East Sheen.: Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej, accompanied by Queen Sirikit, today ceremonially anointed the name plate of the Buddhapadipa Temple in East Sheen, thus formally opening the recently founded Buddhist Temple to the public. The King and queen of Thailand are on a ten-week private visit to Britain.
