Queen Victoria statue moved to new site, Blackfriars

Feb. 20, 1967 - Queen Victoria statue moved to New site at Blackfriars: The bronze statue of Queen Victoria near Blackfriars Bridge, was moved yesterday to make way for a traffic underpass. She was trussed on to a crane and swung thiery yards to a new site. In her old position Queen Victoria looked towards the city. In her new position she will look towards the Thames. Photo shows Queen Victoria at the start of her journey, with workman Stephen Newson looking on
