Race demonstration in Brick Lane area, East London
Jul. 17, 1978 - 13 Arrests In London Race Demo: 13 were arrested and several scuffles broke out yesterday in the Brick Lane area of East London and 2000 protesters, led by local Bengalis, demonstrated against the right-wing National Front. The demonstration was organised by by the Hackney and Tower Hamlets defence committee and the anti-Nazi league, combined with the local Bengali community organisations to counter National Front activity in the area.
