Sep. 09, 1958 - Race Riots in Notting Hill Gate. Wounded Policeman is taken away.: Police reinforcements were rushed to London's Notting Hill gate last night as race riots flared up for the second time in twenty four hours. The riots began after gangs of white youths had jeered at black people. More than a dozen arrests were made- and a number of people were injured- with broken bottles etc. Photo Shows A policeman wounded in the head is helped away by colleagues at the height of the battle
