RAF Canberra plane crash near Huntingdon, Norfolk

May 05, 1977 - Five die as plane hits homes: An RAF Canberra crashed on a row of houses of a council estate near Huntingdon, Norfolk, killing the crew of two, and three children. One of the children was a four month old baby boy, and the other two were sisters aged two and four. The plane was returning from a photo-reconnaissance flight over Scotland and was within two miles of its home base at Wyton when for no apparent reason it went out of control, falling on a row of houses in Norfolk Street, Hartford, which is alongside the air base.
