Apr. 17 American leads British fighting cocks: 33 year old Major Ray O Roberts of Savannah, Georgia, a USAF officer serving in Britain under the USAF-RAF exchange scheme, has been put in command of No. 43 Squadron at the Royal Air Force Station, Leuchars, Fife, Scotland. Now equipped with Hawker Hunters, modern British supersonic jets, the squadron nicknamed The fighting Cocks has a proud fighting record in both world wars.
