Railway accident near Celle, Lower Saxony, Germany
Jun. 06, 1970 - Five deaths in a serious railway accident: A serious railway accident near Celle/Lower Saxony caused at least five dead and 20 seriously wounded passengers on 5.6.70. The accident happened when suddenly the last eight carriages of the express train Stuttgart-Hamburg being on high speed sprung from the rails and partly overturned. It is not yet known what was the cause of the accident, however the conductor said he had noticed dislocations of the tracks shortly before the accident happened.
