Ramses II Statue sets off from Mit Rahina to Cairo
Mar. 03, 1955 - Ramses II Statue Starts On Its Journey From Mit-Rahina To Cairo: The seventy ton statue of Ramses II started its journey from Mit-Rahina, near Sakkara to Midan Bab-el-Hadid Square, Cairo - where it is to be erected. The huge edifice was moved by means of a special trailer - loaned to the Cairo Municipality by the British Military Authorities in the Canal Zone. The transportation and erection of the statue is being supervised by Wing Commander Abdel Latif El Boghdadi Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs.
