Reconstruction of the Battle of Hastings

Oct. 10, 1966 - Battle of Hastings 1966: A 1, 000 students re-fought the Battle of Hastings today in Pageant commemorating 1066 this realistic portrayal of this historic Battle on part of the original battlefield the two sides were made up from students from Kent (Saxon) and Sussex (Norman) Universities. The part of King Harold was played by Major Livermore, Bexhill Amateur Theatrical Society, and William the Conqueror, by Charles Gordon-Durn-and the winner was William the Conqueror once again. Photo shows King Harold seen with some of his men before the start of the second Battle of Hastings
