Red Cross and HIAG at Waffen SS search service event
Jul. 29, 1975 - About 8000 members of the former Waffen SS met in Karlburg this weekend to take part in a search service meeting arranged by HIAG (aid organisation of former Waffen SS members). Following countless protests of the Federal Labour Union DGB and other organisations, HIAG had to cancel public demonstrations which were planned to be held during the meeting. Photo shows a view of the hall in which Red Cross and HIAG try to clear up the fates of about 40, 000 still missing members of the Waffen SS
