Nov. 11, 1953 - Two Albanian Brothers Escape from behind the Iron Curtain and arrive in Greece. Two Albanian brothers Thanassis Lazar Nicola and Christakis Lazar Nicola were working aboard a small motor ship Dinamo in which they were to take supplies to coastguards near Avlona. Aboard the Dinamo was also 68 year old Captain Vassili Kotsi and two young Albanian soldiers. The brothers doped the Captain and the soldiers - and set sail for Greece. They arrived next morning at the Greek Island of Cofu. during the trip Thanassis was compelled to fire at one of the soldiers - who wanted to take the vessel back to Albania. he was wounded in the leg. The brothers gave the Greek authorities information regarding conditions in Albania Army. They said that Greece was said to be Albania's chief enemy;; No. 2 Was Jugo-slavia and Itali No. 3 Who old Skipper Captain Kotsi does not wish to be involved in politics and is afraid that the Albanian authorities will retaliate against his family in Albania and wants to return to his country. The soldiers were handed over to Greek authorities.
