Feb. 01, 1953 - Flood Refugees From Canvey Island: Photo shows. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney martin, of Leigh Beck Point, Canvey Island, seen at Fenchurch-street Station this evening-on their way to stay with relatives in Chelsea. Their bungalow is only four feet from the sea wall-and they were warned to leave it at 2 a.m. this morning, owing to the severe floods. They were taken away in boats-and are seen here with all they could salvage. They do not expect their bungalow to withstand the floods. With them are their children, Terence, 5 mths, are Allan, 16 months
