Feb. 01, 1953 - Flood Refugees from Canvey Island: 16 - year old Albert Boniface, and his dog Smokey - seen on arrival at Fenchurch-street Station today, on arrival from Canvey Island. He was weekend at 3 a.m. this morning and tol to leave his home, owing to the severe floods - and Smokey jumped out the back door, and swam to the rescue boat
