Sep. 23, 1954 - Polish Crew - Seven Men Seize.Polish trawler and steam into English port. Seven members of the crew of the Polish trawler Puszcayk seized control of the 150-ton vessel after staging a mutiny aboard. After locking the captain and the remaining eight members of the crew in their cabins they steamed into Whitby, Yorkshire, Harbour and asked for political asylum. The seven man who commandeered the trawler were interviewed by the harbour master, Captain Frank Greaves, and where taken to the police station. Photo shows the seven members of the crew who staged the mutiny and sought political asylum, pictured after landing of Whitby today
