Nov. 23, 1956 - Rumanian family Buenos Aires request Political Asylum - after refusing to return home?.: The Rumanian Ambassador to the Argentina was recently recalled to his country - but his car driver Gheorge Coman refused to travel with hi, . he requested the Argentina Government to grant him Political Asylum - the request was granted. The Ambassador is said to have tried to force Coman to travel with him by retaining his wife and their 11 months old baby. It was claimed that the wife Maria Coman struggled inside the Embassy - and finally tried to jump form a window and had to be rescued by a party of Rumanian workers. She joined her husband and finallt the baby was handed over the Rumanian officials to officials of the Argentine Foreign Office.
