1947 - Germans help Germans : Under this slogan they started in Celle an aid-campaign for all Lower Saxonia for refugees from the Soviet zone. The first step for this campaign which night be taken as an example came from the city council of Celle. The beginning of this aid-campaign was a three-hours collection staged by 500 Celle children who collected during this time three truck-loads and a horse-drawn cart full of clothing, shoes, toys and household furniture and implements. Most of the things was as good as new
