Feb. 29 Marshal Tito helped German mother! He sent her children back: For long years the German refugee-woman Elise Kuhn fought a despaired struggle about their children.It was at the end of the war just 8 years ago when she was separated by force from them. She and her husband were led away by Yugoslav partisans and handed over to the Soviets for hard labour. In 1946 she fled from Russia to the German Soviet and from there in 1948 to Bavarai. After long investigation she finally learned that her children Susanne and Johann wore in Yugoslav orphan asylums. After a lend period of anxiety she got the first lines from her daughter in a roundabout way reading as follows. We are hungry! and we urgently need some clothing. This was in 1950. And still in 1950 the Yugoslav government gave the permission to transport 1200 children to Germany who were held back there. At once Mrs. Kuhn handed in an application that her two children were to be brought back. Three transports arrived in 1952 and they were not among them. Then she wrote a letter in Serbian language to Marshal Tite himself. On March 19th she got the answer that and Johann were among the next transport. And on March 21st she got a telegram of the Bavarian Red Cross. Susi and Johann arriving in Nuremberg on March 21st. Mrs. Kuhn was trembling with excitement when the train arrived. Some minutes later they embraced each other being separated 8 year ago and now rejoined by the favour of Marshal Tito. Photo shows the children in 1945 when her mother was led away by the Soviets
