Nov. 11, 1961 - Refugees from Tristan Da Guhna Arrive at Temporary Homes - A Former Army Camp in Surrey: The 264 islanders rescued from the volcanic eruption on Tristan de Cunha arrived a their temporary homes - a former Army Camp at Pandell, nr. Meretham, Surrey - where they will live together as a community until they are re-settled.
