Nov. 11, 1961 - Refugees From Tristan Da Cunha Settle In At Former Army Camp The 264 islanders rescued from the volcanic eruption on Tristan da Cunha arrived at their temporary homes, a former Army camp at Pendell, near Mertsham, Surrey.
