Relay station ready for transmitting Coronation

May 05, 1953 - A relay station was set up near the Dutch-German border at Hinsbeck in cooperation with the North West German Broadcasting Corporation and the Federal Post for the television transmission of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II to Germany. This relay station will close the gap between the British and the German television system. French, Belgian and Dutch transmitting stations will transfer the Coronation to the concave mirror of the 40 meters high Relay station and will be transmitted from there to the North West German system
