Replicas of Crown Jewels auctioned in London

Dec. 12, 1956 - Replicas of Crown Jewels auctioned. A life-size replica set of the Crown Jewels in gilded copper and semi-precious stones was auctioned in London today at Druce and Co, Baker Street. The set, which is one of four made in coronation year, was bought for 480 guineas by Mrs Alice Maud Robinson of Monmouth Street, WC2. Photo shows Mr Eric Shorts auctioning the set of replicas of the Crown Jewels, three items of which are shown - L-R the orb, the imperial state crown, and the ampulla. With the auctioneer is his clerk
