Dec. 12, 1957 - Restoration of St. Bride's church continues. Gilding a mural: The restoration of the famous St. Bride's Church in Fleet street - is now almost completed - ready for opening by H.M. The Queen on December 19th. The new organ - which contains some 3, 606 pipes has been installed. The original Church was practically demolished by wartime bombs. Photo shows Mr. F.E. Simpson gilding a mural painted by Glyn Jones high above the altar on the East Wall - of the new St. Bride's Church today
