Returnees from Soviet Union to Vienna Station, Austria

Oct. 10, 1953 - Now also large transport with returnees arrived in Austria. The first large transport with returnees from the Soviet Union arrived at station Wiener Neustadt (Vienna), this Thursday evening. On their arrival the more than 600 returnees - among them 613 men, 20 women and one child - were welcomed by the Austrian Federal President Koerner by the Minister for the Interior Helmer and Foreign Minister Dr. Gruber. There were also 18 Germans with this transport who travelled in the meantime on to the Federal Republic and crossed the border near Freilassing
