: Rex Harrison as Professor Higgins, My Fair Lady

Rex Harrison as Professor Higgins, My Fair Lady

Feb. 26 Covent Garden recreated in Hollywood for the Fairest Lady of them all: On stage Seven in Warner Brothers Hollywood studios is a faithful reconstruction of Covent Garden. On the set is a fair lady - Audrey Hepburn by name and she's to play Eliza Doolittle in a lavish film of My Fair Lady. Rex Harrison, who played Professor Higgins in the stage version, based on the play Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw, is to recreate the same part of the film. The supporting cast includes Stanley Holloway, Gladys Cooper and Wilfrid Hyde-White, and it is estimated the film will have cost about £5 million by the time it is released in the autumn of next year. Director is George Cukor, and sets and costume designs by Cecil Beaton. Photo shows Rex Harrison as Professor Higgins
