Richard Gott, radical candidate in Hull by-election
Jan. 01, 1966 - A One Man Political Machine: Mr. Richard Gott, 27, is standing for a party called the Radical Alliance at the crucial Hull by-election on January 27th. Mr. Gott is unlikely to save his deposit or, indeed, collect more than a derisory few hundred votes. But in edgy North Hull, where Labour last time scraped home with a mere 1, 181 majority, these few hundred votes might be decisive. They could cost the Government the seat, reduce the Westminster majority to one and precipitate a General Election. Mr. Gott lives at the top of a huge building in Maida Vale, West London.
