Jul. 26, 1964 - Operation Crossbow filming of this war story at Downing Street this morning: Operation Crossbow, the most important British film project to be undertaken in recent years got under way this morning when they started filming in Downing Street. The film is about Allied mission against Hitler's V.1 and V 2 flying bombs and Rockets Duncan Sandys was appointed by wartime premier Churchill to head the secret weapons investigation committee while serving as Deputy Minister of supply, Under his leadership Crossbow became one of the most decisive strategic operations of the war, resulting in the blasting of the Paenumude Rocket factories and launching sites in Northern France by Allied Bomber forces, the part of Duncan Sandys will be played by Richard Johnson the well known shakerpearian actor. Also in the film are Richard Todd, John Mills, Trevor Howard, George Pepper, Sylvia Syms and Sophia Loren.
