Mr. Richard Marsh, Minister of Transport, yesterday visited the West London Traffic Experimental Control Room at New Scotland Yard. Results so far from the nine months old experiment show that journey times in 6 1/2 square miles of West London have been reduced by 9.2 percent. This is equivalent to a saving to the community in one year of 2, 430, 000 return is calculated on the savings in wear and tear on vehicles, petrol and costs in wages for drivers and passengers.
