Richard Millet-Denning and his sand yacht on wheels
Sep. 09, 1954 - Land Ahoy All The Time, Speed Tests In The Ship That Never Gets Wet: Mr. Richard Millet-Denning, who is one of the world's leading sand yachtsmen, is soon to attempt to sail at 75 mph in his yacht-on-land, to set up a new British native speed record. Mr Millet-Denning is seen here in his strange looking craft, which he calls the Coronation Year Mark II, rather like a flying triangle on wheels. Normally it carries a crew of four, but for the speed attempt there will only be a crew of two. The attempt will be made over the flying mile at the beach at Lytham St Annes
