1974 - Richard Von Weizsacker May Be aspirant of The CDU/CSU in the Presidential Election on May 15, 1974; The Presidency of the Christian Democratic Union has suggested to the Federal Board having their meeting on April 24, to recommend the deputy of the Federal District, Richard von Weizsacker (picture) as aspirant the Union for the election of the President of the Federal Republic on May 15, 1974. On May 6 there will be the final decisions for the nomination by the delegates of the CDU/CSU. Richard Von Weizsacker, chairman of the faction, was born in Stuttgart on April 15, 1920. After his studies in jurisprudence in Oxford, Grenoble and Gottingen he was in the military service from 1938 until 1945. From 1950 until 1966 he worked in industry and in 1967 was a lawyer in Bonn. In 1969 he entered into the federal District for the CDU. If Mr. Von Weizsacker will be nominated his rival secretary of the FDP and who is supported by the Social Democrats
