Mar. 03, 1966 - Rioters injured in Delhi.: Over 100 people were injured in riots between Hindus and Sikhs in New Delhi, over the future of Punjab State. Six people were reported killed by police shooting. The Delhi riots began during a protest march in old Delhi's main shopping center, Chandni Chowk, against police firing in Amritsar the day before. Tear gas was used to disperze most of the mob which had burned cars and motors strs. Photo shows a jeep set on fire by demonstrators in Chandni Chowk, Delhi, on Monday
