Ripper Trial - Prison van arrives at the Old Bailey

1981 - Sutcliffe trial opens at Old Bailey: The trial of the 34 year old Bradford lorry driver Peter Stucliffe who is accused of merdering 13 women and attempting to murder seven others opened at the Old Bailey today. Sutcliffe arrived in a convoy of police vehicles to make his appearance in the famous No. 1 Court. Crowds of spectators, press men and queue of those hoping to gain admittance to the public gallery of the court gathered early this morning.
