Rocket launcher demonstrated, Small Arms School, Hythe
Feb. 02, 1953 - New weapons for the British Army Demonstration - A Rocket launcher at small arms school. It was announced today by the War Minister Antony Head in a statement about the Army Estimates that the British infantryman is being provided with a Complete family of new weapons which includes a new anti-tank grenade which weighs only 21 oz. with a destructive capacity equal to the most powerful infantry anti- tank weapon of the last war. It is projected from a standard Lee Enfield Rifle. He also announced that the USA 3.5 inch rocket launcher has been adopted, and although comparatively short ranged is extremely powerful.
