Roman Baths on Cotswold tourist heritage trail, Bath

1977 - Roman Heritage Trail: The Roman Empire is making a comeback in Britain with the help of the national tourist boards. Nine Roman Heritage Trails, linking sites and cities throughout England, Scotland and Wales have been devised under the common symbol of the head of the Emperor Hadrian, taken from an authentic coin of the time. The trails cover everything from a fort at Ardech in Scotland to a Villa at Brading on the Isle of Wight; from an amphitheatre at Carmarthen to a lighthouse at Dover, to the natural hot spring water of the Roman Bath, at Bath.
