Roman Polanski Directs Verdi's opera Rigoletto at the National theatre in Munich: Roman Polanski, who has become world famous as a film director (Rosemary's Baby, Chinatown) is directing the opera Rigoletto at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. The premiere will be on October 31st. It is not the first time, that Roman Polanski directs an opera. Two years ago, he produced Lulu at the Festival of Spoleto in Italy.
