Dec. 12, 1952 - Stones - Bottle - And Chairs Thrown At English Referee In Argentine Football Match: Police and fireman has to intervene during the riots which broke out during the football match at Roserio, Argentine, recently. The match was between River Plate (Buenos Aires) and Newells Old Boys (Rosaric). The crowd threw bottles - chairs stones at anything they could lay their hands on hand - at the English Referee Mr. Dyuckes - after he had suspended a local player Lopez. Mr. Dyuckes was lucky to escape serious injury - but the firemen and police had to use hoses to quell the excited crowd. The match resulted in a l - Nil victory for River Plate 1/2.
