Dec. 09 Tom Whittaker Dies In London Famous Manager Of The Arsenal F.C.; Mr. Tom Whittaker, Secretary-Manager of the Arsenal F.C. since 1947 - and associated with the club for 37 years - died in a London Hospital today. He was 59 and had been in poor health for some months. Mr. Whittatker was one of the greatest names in success history. He started playing for Arsenal in 1919 as a center forward but later because a half back of some considerable promise. Unfortunately his playing days were ended by a knee injury he suffered while touring with the 1925 FA team in Australia. He was persuaded to stay with the club as trainer. His extraordinary skill in dealing with injuries led to his becoming one of the foremost therapeutics. Photo Shows Mr.Tom Whittaker
